Harp

The harp is a common motif in Scottish folklore. The clàrsach, a small harp, is one of the oldest known instruments of Scotland, featuring in history from as early as the 8th and 9th centuries. It was associated wiht the courts of the Gaelic chieftains in mediaeval times. In folklore, the harp was believed to have magical associations.
