Bob Pegg
Strathpeffer
Bob Pegg is a storyteller, musician, author and songwriter. He began his professional career as a recording artist with 1970s folk rock band Mr Fox. He began storytelling in earnest when he moved to the Highlands in the 1990s, fascinated by the ways the legends of his new home were linked to landscape and place. Local legends, Norse myths, tales of the Otherworld – selkies, shape-shifters, wolves, the Good People – these are some of the subjects of his stories. He likes to tell them without ceremony, as if they happened just yesterday. Storytelling has taken Bob to Scandinavia and all over northern Britain, working in venues varying from St Magnus Cathedral in Orkney to a Viking long house in the wilds of Iceland.
