George Macpherson
Glendale, Skye
Born in Greenock and brought up in Ardnamurchan, George (Seoras) Macpherson worked in the West of Scotland for many years before returning to his father’s home country in Glendale to commit himself to storytelling and writing. His stories come from family traditions passed down through many generations in Skye and Argyll. They include stories of the epic heroes Fionn and Cuchullin, tales of fairies, water horses and the seal people. He has also gathered many legends and historical stories about the early Saints, the Jacobites, the Clearances and the two World Wars.
