The Story of Auld Cruivie
Grace Banks
Grace Banks tells this magical story of Jack, a greedy laird, a secret treasure and ancient trees whose roots emerge from the earth to dance on Midsummer’s Night once every 50 years. This story has links to Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire. Grace learned this story from the Travelling community. The word ‘cruivie’ is from the Gaelic word ‘craobh’ for tree.
